Cervical Spondylosis Treatment in Hyderabad

Age- and posture-related wear in the neck vertebrae and discs, causing stiffness, neck pain and pain or tingling that spreads into the shoulder and arm.

Also known as: Neck arthritis · Cervical osteoarthritis · Gardan ka dard

1. Symptoms you may notice

  • A stiff, aching neck that is worst in the morning or after long screen work
  • Pain spreading into one shoulder blade, upper arm or hand
  • Tingling or numbness in the fingers, sometimes with a weak grip
  • Headaches starting at the base of the skull, and a grinding sensation when turning the head

2. How Unani medicine understands it

In Unani terms cervical spondylosis is a cold, dry derangement of the cervical joints in which the tissues lose their normal moisture and nourishment, so the joint degenerates and the surrounding muscles stay in spasm. Treatment works on both: warming, lubricating measures for the joint itself, and restoring circulation through the muscles that are holding the neck rigid.

3. What treatment involves

  1. Clinical examination with a neurological check of the arm, plus review of any imaging
  2. Hijama at cervical and upper-back points, and Dalk (therapeutic massage) with warming medicated oils
  3. Oral formulations for joint pain and stiffness, individualised to temperament
  4. Workstation and pillow correction — the single change that most often decides whether the pain stays away
  5. A progressive neck and scapular exercise programme taught in the clinic, not handed out as a leaflet

When to seek urgent care instead

These are not reasons to book an appointment. If any of them applies to you, go to a hospital or call emergency services now — our clinic is not the right place for them and delay causes harm.

  • Weakness or clumsiness in both hands, unsteadiness when walking, or difficulty with fine movements — this suggests cord compression and needs prompt specialist review
  • Neck pain after a fall or road accident
  • Neck pain with fever, or with unexplained weight loss

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cervical spondylosis go away completely?

The structural wear in the vertebrae does not reverse, and no honest clinic will tell you otherwise. What treatment changes is the pain, the stiffness and the nerve irritation, and those can improve substantially and stay improved. Patients who also correct their screen posture and keep up the exercises are the ones who stop having flare-ups; those who treat only the episode tend to see it return.

Is Hijama safe on the neck?

Yes, when it is done at the correct points by a trained physician. Cupping on the neck and upper back is among the most commonly performed Hijama sites. We use single-use disposable cups and blades, the procedure is performed under MD-qualified supervision, and patients on blood thinners or with bleeding disorders are assessed separately before anything is scheduled.

Will I need to wear a cervical collar?

Usually only briefly, if at all. A collar helps during an acute flare but weakens the neck muscles when it is worn for weeks, which makes the next flare worse. If one is advised you will be told exactly how many hours a day and for how long, and the exercise programme starts as the collar comes off.

Discuss your case with an MD-qualified physician

Bring your reports and your current medication. The first consultation is about establishing what is actually going on, not about selling you a course of treatment.
