Hair Fall & Alopecia Treatment in Hyderabad

Excessive hair shedding, thinning or patchy bald spots, treated by correcting the scalp circulation, the scalp condition and the internal cause behind it.

Also known as: Baldness · Alopecia areata · Daus Salab · Baal girna

1. Symptoms you may notice

  • More than the usual amount of hair on the pillow, in the comb or in the bathroom drain
  • A widening parting or visibly thinner hair at the crown or temples
  • Round, smooth bald patches appearing over a few weeks
  • An itchy, flaking or greasy scalp alongside the shedding

2. How Unani medicine understands it

Unani medicine treats hair fall as a symptom of the scalp's nourishment failing, whether from impaired local blood supply, a scalp disorder such as dandruff or infection, or a systemic cause — anaemia, thyroid disease, postnatal change or nutritional deficit. The protocol therefore begins by establishing which of those it is, because a topical oil applied over an untreated thyroid problem achieves nothing.

3. What treatment involves

  1. Scalp examination and history, with blood tests where a systemic cause is suspected
  2. Treatment of the scalp condition itself — dandruff, seborrhoea or infection — first
  3. Internal formulations for the identified cause, with medicated oils such as Roghan-e-Amla for local application
  4. Localised Hijama on the scalp in patchy alopecia, to stimulate dormant follicles
  5. Diet and nutritional correction, and a realistic timeline set against the hair growth cycle

When to seek urgent care instead

These are not reasons to book an appointment. If any of them applies to you, go to a hospital or call emergency services now — our clinic is not the right place for them and delay causes harm.

  • Hair loss with scarring, redness or pustules on the scalp — scarring alopecia becomes permanent if it is not treated early
  • Sudden loss of most of the scalp hair, or loss of eyebrows and body hair as well
  • Hair fall with marked fatigue, weight change, or heavy periods, which needs blood tests before any treatment

Frequently Asked Questions

How long before the hair fall slows down?

Shedding usually settles within six to eight weeks once the cause is being treated, but visible regrowth follows the hair cycle and takes three to six months — you cannot see in the mirror what began at the follicle last month. This is why we measure progress by how much hair is coming out rather than by how thick it looks early on.

Is Unani treatment safer than Minoxidil or Finasteride?

The herbal formulations and oils used here do not carry the side effects those medicines are known for, which is the usual reason patients come to us. That said, safe does not mean interchangeable: if you are already on one of them, tell the physician, because stopping suddenly can cause a burst of shedding and the change should be planned.

Will the bald patches fill in?

Patchy alopecia areata often does regrow, and localised scalp Hijama is used precisely to stimulate follicles that are dormant rather than lost. Where the follicle has been destroyed — in scarring alopecia, or long-standing advanced pattern baldness — regrowth is not achievable and the honest plan is to protect what remains.
